UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS - SCHOENECKER NURSING BUILD-OUT

Hallberg Engineering partnered with BWBR on the Schoenecker Nursing Build-Out at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. The project involved the interior build-out of approximately 8,000 square feet of previously vacant space on the third and fourth floors of Schoenecker Hall, creating new facilities to support the university’s College of Nursing.

The new space accommodates simulation rooms, classrooms, offices, and general teaching and support areas. The nursing facilities were planned to reflect similar spaces in the university’s Summit Classroom Building, supporting hands-on learning and nursing education.

Hallberg Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design services for the project. Because the space was previously unfinished, the build-out required new building systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), temperature controls, plumbing, lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm systems. The project also included new restrooms to serve the expanded learning environment.

Through our collaboration with BWBR, Hallberg Engineering helped support the development of specialized educational spaces designed to prepare future nursing professionals.
