BERNIE BARRIE joined Hallberg Engineering in Winter of 2003 as a mechanical designer. Bernie grew up outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario and attended Westgate High School before moving on to Lakehead University where he studied Mechanical Engineering. When his heightened mechanical and mathematics skills started showing from a young age, his family and especially his father encouraged him to pursue engineering. In 2000, Bernie moved to Rochester, MN to start his engineering career before settling in with Hallberg Engineering in 2003. 

Throughout the course of his career, Bernie has been project designer, senior project designer, project manager and senior project manager and in addition to project management, he is now currently in the role of Mechanical Department Manager.  He strives to be a role model and strong leader for the mechanical department and leads the staff managing project staffing assignments and providing technical oversight and direction.  Bernie is active in business development and marketing as well for the firm.

OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE...

Bernie stays very active with family; his wife Nicole and their three boys. Dependent upon the time of year, they can be found spending time at the hockey rink, baseball or football field, or area golf course.  

WHEN THE MINNESOTA SNOW MELTS AWAY...

You can find Bernie and his family spending time with their grandparents both north and south of the border and at their family cabins in Graham, Ontario and Park Rapids, MN where they enjoy the outdoors and boating and fishing.
