RICH HANSON joined Hallberg Engineering in Fall of 2024 as a Technology Design Specialist. Rich brings over 40 years of experience in the low voltage life safety industry. Originally from Spooner, Wisconsin, Rich started his academic journey at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, pursuing a degree in Forestry. Realizing the field's limitations in growth and income, he transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he obtained an Associate’s Degree in Electronics.

Rich's low voltage life safety career began in 1984 with a local integrator, where he worked as an installer and service technician for the first four years. He then transitioned into estimating, design, and engineering. After 13 years, he launched his own business, ECSI, which he successfully led until retiring in June 2024. ECSI is now one of the largest low voltage life safety integrators in Minnesota, operating throughout the U.S. Rich holds a NICET Level 4 certification in Life Safety Design and Engineering, a NICET Level 2 in Audio Design, and numerous continuing education certifications in the low voltage field. In his role at Hallberg, he assists with low voltage life safety design, engineering, and Master SPEC writing.
